Hello!

I'm an award-winning Canadian classical pianist and experienced teacher offering piano lessons for all levels, beginner to advanced. I have performed with orchestra and has a soloist in various festivals across Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland, in addition to being a prize winner in numerous competitions, as well as the recipient of numerous grants and awards.

Having over 15 years of experience as a teacher (including my own private studio and a teaching assistant at the University of Montreal), I am very dedicated to my students of each person.

La technique et la maîtrise de l'instrument:
Je propose un travail axé sur la technique, en mettant l'accent sur la maîtrise des rudiments, des patterns, et du vocabulaire spécifique à la batterie. L'objectif est que l'élève se sente rapidement à l'aise dans l'improvisation et l'interprétation de morceaux.

L'énergie et le groove:
Une partie du cours est dédiée à la lecture et à l'application de patterns. Nous les travaillons en boucle pour maintenir une énergie constante dans le groove. Cette étape inclut également des improvisations à deux batteries, permettant de développer l’écoute et la créativité.

L’interprétation et l’adaptation au style de l’élève:
Enfin, nous travaillons sur l’apprentissage de morceaux. L’élève peut apporter ses propres morceaux ou suivre mes suggestions, en fonction de ses envies et de son style musical. Si l’élève souhaite explorer des rythmes plus électroniques, nous pouvons intégrer une boîte à rythmes ou des outils de production sur ordinateur (rap, pop, musique électronique) pour enrichir le cours.

Passionné de piano depuis de nombreuses années, j’ai suivi ma formation au Conservatoire de Lausanne, où j’ai obtenu mon certificat de piano, puis mon certificat supérieur. Ces deux diplômes m’ont été décernés avec les félicitations du jury, et mon certificat supérieur a également été récompensé par un prix.

Parallèlement à mon parcours musical, j’ai poursuivi et achevé mes études de médecine à l’Université de Lausanne, tout en continuant à pratiquer régulièrement le piano et à cultiver cette passion qui m’accompagne depuis de nombreuses années.

J’aimerais aujourd’hui transmettre cette passion et permettre à chacun de progresser à son rythme. Ma manière d’enseigner repose sur une idée simple : apprendre en s’amusant, mais surtout en comprenant ce que l’on joue. Je souhaite que l’élève développe de bonnes bases musicales sans que l’apprentissage devienne mécanique ou contraignant.

Je m’adapte au niveau, aux objectifs et aux goûts de chaque élève. Les cours peuvent ainsi associer technique, lecture de partitions, rythme, musicalité et interprétation, tout en laissant une place importante aux morceaux que l’élève a réellement envie de jouer.

Patient et à l’écoute, j’aime expliquer les difficultés étape par étape et trouver différentes manières de les aborder. Mon objectif est que l’élève prenne plaisir à jouer, comprenne la musique et gagne progressivement en autonomie et en confiance au piano.
